My book review on Hatchet
If you are looking for a book where everything is perfect than you've come to the wrong place because in this book everything goes absolutely wrong. THE END
Just joking, Hatchet is actually a really great book.
It is written by Gary Paulsen and it is about a boy who survives against all odds. It's genre is survival and action.
Brian is a city boy of new York. Not used to be living rough. Until the bush-plane that he is on crash lands in the Canadian wilderness. All he has is a small Hatchet and a very desperate will to survive. Brian must now learn to live the hard way or he'll die.
I liked the book because it used really interesting and catchy words. It also used factual statements which taught me something. For example that in the wilderness you can't take shortcuts like building a easy shelter. If you do things like this you be in trouble later on. In life its the same thing, if you do things not proper then you will suffer the consequences later.
I also liked Brian's creativity for example when he used his shoelaces to make a bow.
The thing i did not like was that the book kept talking about emotional stuff. For example at the beginning of the book it was all about divorce and the pilot having a heart attack.

I think the message in this book is to never give in to complicated things when they face you . It doesn't matter if you in the wilderness or you are a city kid. The author also wanted to teach the reader about surviving in the wild and at the same time trying to entertain kids.
So over all it is an awesome book. I would recommend this book for people who love the wilderness and want to learn about survival in nature.
